Photoredox Allylation Reactions Mediated by Bismuth in Aqueous Conditions

چکیده

Abstract Organometallic allylic reagents are widely used in the construction of C−C bonds by Barbier‐type reactions. In this communication, we have described a photoredox Barbier allylation aldehydes mediated bismuth, absence other metals as co‐reductants. Mild reaction conditions, tolerance oxygen, and use aqueous solvent make methodology attractive for green sustainable synthesis homoallylic alcohols.

Aqueous Barbier allylation of aldehydes mediated by tin.

The aqueous tin-mediated Barbier reaction affords good to excellent yields and moderate syn diastereoselectivity under basic and acidic conditions. The high yields and stereoselectivity observed in the case of o-substituted aldehydes suggest a cyclic organotin intermediate or transition state in K2HPO4 solution. A practical and efficient aqueous tin allylation of methoxy- and hydroxybenzaldehyd...

Visible-Light-Mediated Alkenylation, Allylation, and Cyanation of Potassium Alkyltrifluoroborates with Organic Photoredox Catalysts

Iridium- and ruthenium-free approaches to protected allylic amines and alkyl nitriles under photoredox conditions are reported. An inexpensive organic dye, eosin Y, catalyzes coupling of Boc-protected potassium α-aminomethyltrifluoroborates with a variety of substituted alkenyl sulfones through an α-aminomethyl radical addition-elimination pathway. Allylic and homoallylic amines were formed in ...

A convenient procedure for bismuth-mediated Barbier-type allylation of aldehydes in water containing fluoride ions.

A new and convenient procedure for synthesis of homoallylic alcohols in generally good to excellent yields has been developed. The bismuth-mediated Barbier-type allylation of aldehydes (aromatic, aliphatic, alicyclic and heterocyclic) with allyl bromide has been carried out smoothly in water in the presence of fluoride ions.
